Ca’n Buco

This project is located in a rural environment of Llucmajor, in a plot characterized by almond trees, olive trees and some deep visuals, reaching Cabrera Island.

The house, thanks to the movements it makes on its facades, creates corners as unique as a desk from where to observe Cabrera and the sunset, a window that allows one to sit inside it to read or simply observe the sunrise, as well as a small balcony on the floor, linked to a yoga room.

The project, through three different elements, makes space more flexible, having a pergola zone that enhances the use of the exterior space while connecting the attached diaphanous body with the dwelling, allowing the spaces to function in a chained manner or independently.

Formally, the dwelling is inspired by the old Cases de Possesió de Mallorca, which had the Tower as a defence element and key to its architecture. Ca'n Buco looks to the past, reconverting this defensive construction into the main focus of the dwelling, with the creation of a double-height living room, communicating the two levels of the dwelling.
